A friend of mine let me borrow this when on a recent vacation to Seattle so I could get some opinions as to it's value. He found it at a flea market.

It quite obviously is an early 1800 Napoleonic Commemorative Coin...but someone machined out the back of it, stuffed a cardboard disc into it, and made a sort of medal out of it...you can see what it looks like.

Is it going to be one of those things that is "worth what someone would pay"?

When doing my net research on this, I found several websites devoted to these, but of course there was an actual "reverse" on all the ones I saw....something this one is lacking haha.

Have any of you ever seen something like this?

It's obviously a one-off, or maybee they made several. The metal work and mount look Victorian, or late 19th cencury. Its probably worth about $100 to a collector.

If thats a safety catch on the back and the pin is center hinged, then ya better re-think the age and also the fact it is probably a recent item. :D
