Was able to get out for a couple hunts this weekend. Hunted a foundation site deep in the woods on Friday. Not many signals there but I did manage an 1898 indian head, a few buttons, a suspender buckle, and an eagle button that I need a little help IDing. Any help would be appreciated. Haven't done much cleaning on the button yet. Hopefully there's enough detail showing to accurately ID it.

Got out for a second hunt this weekend to a homesite that still exists but dates back into the late 1700s originally. Not many signals at all here. The homeowner has only owned it for a few years and it's definitely been detected before. I did find a few interesting things. Pulled a nice railroad lock out of the side yard. Gave a pretty strong signal and I was thinking it might be a beer can as I was digging it. That's the only reason I could see anyone who was detecting leaving a signal like that in the ground. It says N Y C & H R R R Co. on it.

Hit a good signal in front of the house out near the road and ended up digging four ornate picture frames out of a small area. I'm going to see what I can do to restore them as best as possible and hopefully I'll be able to display them somehow. While I was digging the picture frames I pulled a really nice Native American knife blade out of the dirt I was putting on my towel. I was very surprised to see it and needless to say I was very pleased with the find.

awesome!! I believe the eagle button is from around 1812..

You had an awesome day as well Evolution ! I call It a native american celt ! Or spearhead ! Yeah that is the find of the day ! Some real good runner up finds as well ! Nice hunt ! MaineRelic

that blade is huge congrats

look up stanfield on the blade, but looks kinda thick like they were not ready to make it a blade yet they would carry flint along and knock pieces off to make points all the while trying to make a really good piece

Great finds, the point you have would be a Paleo point.

I really like that lock! Glad they decided not to dig it. I find old aluminum trade tokens in yards that have been hunted before.....others probably thought they were pulltabs or can pieces :>)

Congrats on some great finds

Great finds and nice looking site

Nice finds! That is a sweet blade and the button is a nice piece of history!

Awesome lock...that is sweet !!!!

I got a sweet spot for old locks .... and buttons...very nicely done.

Great looking site there in the woods !

I always try to dig every repeatable signal at older sites, even if they've been searched before. Nobody finds everything. There's always something left behind. My hunting buddy and I often search the same areas when we're hunting just to make sure we're leaving as little behind as possible. He's found things in areas I've already searched and vice versa. You just never know.

Congrats on a great day !!!!! Lovin that lock !!

Nice hunt dude you got a bit of everything.

That point could be worth a lot of money if it is a paleo preform.

I have very little knowledge of Native American artifacts. I'll have to do some research. I just checked Ebay and there's one that looks extremely similar to the one I found going for $1200 right now. Thanks for the reply.

That New York Central and Hudson River RailRoad Company Lock is the find of the day for sure! Could be worth a couple hundred bucks!

The eagle button I'd have to see cleaned. Looks like 1820s era militia or diplomatic. Is the eagle on a globe?

Thanks for the reply Buck. I still haven't cleaned the Eagle button yet. I'll clean 'er up tomorrow and post up a picture. Thanks for the info. about the lock. I couldn't seem to find any information as to value when I read about it.
