Can any Native American artifact experts out there tell me if this is a piece of pottery? I was actually digging a metal detecting target in a creek when this slid out of the hole. The first thing that caught my eye was the hatch pattern present on the outer face of it. It is also curved like a bowl or large vase would have. There is also a large variety of small stones, shell fragments, and other assorted fragments that are alien to the piece. This piece was found in the creek of the Penn Forest area of Roanoke va. I’m almost 100 percent certain that it is, but wanted a second opinion.

Good find!! Looks like the real deal! There's some people over on the North American Indian Artifact forum that really know pottery.
