Native artifacts from Mass? Opinions please

So, in your opening sentence you really didn't mean "are they real"? At first I thought you were in doubt but as the thread has progressed, I see that's just the opposite. Classic Trolling 101.

You probly think the old man of the mountain in NH was natural, but I don't think so. It took years to even find any others who were seeing what I was. How many pieces showing the possibility of workmanship would you have to find before it became a probability in your mind.Took me a heck of a lot. You have never really looked at this stuff with your own eyes as someone with your skill in recognizing stonework would see the tool marks. If you don't mind I'll keep posting some pics whether all believe or not.

Here is a sandstone pebble from my collection that was written up recently and published in a book documenting Native American images in stone. It was described as a shape shifting effigy imaging different things dependent on how one held it: humanoid, turtle, or frog. It's very clever in that respect. But, it was ground past any tool marks. You see no tool marks, yet everyone can agree this was crafted by a skilled human artisan. I do not believe such agreement can be reached on the stone face you posted, nor the whimsical Japanese examples Grim posted. Most will see your example as natural....

Why would I find things with the same imagery as others do all over the country and world, or at least from Japan as grim so kindly showed us to England and Europe. Speaks of a universal culture which is contrary to what I believed of our native Americans who were quite diverse I thought, but most of you would know better. That's where the pre-Clovis thoughts began, and as with the rock art it turned out I am not as brilliant as I would like to believe and others were far ahead of me on this.

There's a bit of history behind the Grim Reaper avatar/member. He did not choose it, it was chosen for him. One could say that he has earned it. I'll see if I can dig that thread up, it's been several years ago when that went down....lol

I've seen your stone face elsewhere, and folks respectfullly declined to buy into your interpretation. I would suggest two things are happening here. One, you lack the ability to distinguish natural from human alteration. A pretty common error. But, you are inflating that error by, two, interpreting what is natural as crafted by humans. I would predict what is likely to happen should you continue to post rocks, and claim they are Native American artifacts, is that the moderators will move such threads into the Geofacts section of TNet. You may not like that, but that is very likely what will happen. You have every right to believe whatever you wish to believe, but when it's clear a rock is a rock is a rock, such threads are usually moved to Geofacts. It's not my call, of course, I'm just another highly experienced collector, but what I am describing is usually the outcome when someone posts rocks. This is not the rock forum.

Edit: I see that what I am suggesting has in fact already happened with several of your threads.

Natural rocks.

I find things exactly as you describe but appear to be a far more primitive form while yours resembles classic native stonework to my limited knowledge. Still one effigy transitions to the next. One theory is they were routinely reworked by artisans over the years and re-effigied as a signature of the artisan.Makes the best sense of the jumbled nature of some of these to me

You have posted no artifacts in this post just geofacts.

Remember as kids we would lay on the grass & see all kinds of shapes in the clouds? Fun times! These face rocks are pretty much the same.

I think to many of the textbook veterans are so used to seeing post after post of rocks that one could say that they might have thier minds made up before they even glance the picture over.

Exactly. All of my stuff was moved into geofacts. Even though they were all found in the same spot
