I've been reorganizing my garage and came across a box of rocks I've assembled some time ago and I found this one specimen I purchased years ago in this collection. I always knew I had someplace. It has been polished and is labeled "Silver in Jasper". Again I tried to research where this may have occurred, but all I'm finding is Native American silver jewelry set with Jasper stones. Just wondering if anyone has any more knowledge of where and how this specimen may have come from and formed? I'm pretty sure that is silver within the matrix of jasper from the way it's oxidized.

Very interesting piece. Silver in jasper isn't something I've seen in person. No idea on locale.

Yeah I don't know either, that's why I bought it. It was part of an older collection.

That's a neat piece, seems pretty unusual, wish I could give some insight!

Since jasper is a type of quartz or chrysotile (right?), makes sense imho that it might hold some silver, :dontknow:

I've seen specimens come out of northern Mexico at gem and mineral shows but thats as much as I know of locality. The stuff I've seen has always been cabbed.
