Wow. The Backmark says "Frank Thomas Co" on the back. I cannot see above the eagle because of some dirt. I dug this off of Route 50 near monument drive. I used to own a condo there. It was the Battle of Chantilly. Nothing remains and it was hunted hard. I dug a bayonet there.

Now thats a very interesting button.Never seen one like it before.Man Chantilly brings back memories,as I use to hunt there also.
 

Hi guys I believe that this button was made for the coast guard and is probably about 30- 40 years old
 

i have an old button belongs to a friend, been trying to identify it for him......looked at every site and post, nowhere is it to be found....small 9/16 '' brass sheild with 8 stars across top and 3 diagonal lines in sheild......dug from civil war camp near crossville tennessee ,,,no back on it......if you can i.d. i will send a picture via e-mail, as i am too stupid to be able to figure out how to post pics on here............thanks gldhntr
