So I know there is lots of debate about Navel button with iron backs. So I will add another. I found this button in a area that has produced some amazing navy buttons including a Confederate CN button. But it is also a home site. The area saw both CS and US troops throughout the course of the war. So that said here it is what are your thoughts.

IMHO, a fairly modern fashion button, even the curved beam is a later kedge design...
I'm hoping someone can confirm the design for you as early Naval..

It looks like this fashion button from Waterbury. 21391 - Anchors - Waterbury Button But there is one difference and that is the end of the anchor rope. I'll look for a closer match.

I have to agree this is a fashion button. I was hoping for something but such is life. Thanks for the replies.
