Ok I might have already identified this piece but thought I'd ask if anyone has an alternate ID.

Here is the only match I came up with.
Political Leader Belt Hook

Here is the hook I found, with some other random stuff from the site.

It sure does look like a match via you link. However, I know I've seen that "configuration" before and it had nothing to do with the military - just can't seem to remember what it was - having another Senior Moment! :laughing7:

Hmm..... As the senior fog clears in my head. Give a look around for Boy Scout haversacks. I think they had a clip like that on the bottom of the straps. With the toy gun I'd lean that way. You probably already know but the round with the bar across the hole (by the muzzle of the cap gun) is a weight they used to use in the hem of curtains to keep then from flying. Most common are the square ones.

I've looked at a lot of sword hangers, belt hooks, and even curtain hooks, but only the one match so far. I'm not one to cling to a far fetched ID but until proven otherwise.
