Very cool finds! You definitely hunt a productive area. In the first picture, that point at the top-left kinda looks like a Wills Cove. If that's what that is, then it is 3,000 to 1,000 years old. That material that you are trying to figure out, kinda looks like quartzite to me maybe. Can light shine through it any?

Thanks. No light cannot shine through it. To clarify my opening thread, I wasn't given the farm.........just given permission to surface hunt the farm.

It still may be quartzite even if light can't shine through it, but I'm not really sure what it is. If I had in hand, I could probably be able to say to for sure. There's going to be an artifact show in Clemmons this Saturday. If you have anything that you are wanting to get identified, there's a guy named Chris Hendrix that will probably know. I've never been to a show before, so I'm excited to get to go to one. Clemmons is like a 25 minute drive from my house.

Try to get a good close-up of all the pieces you're talking about. Each separate (1 item per photo)- and in natural light. That will help a lot. As it stands, the light's not too good, the pics are a little out of focus, and too far away to ID. Where you're from- or rather where the artifacts were found, generally, might help too. NC's a big state. Thanks- Yakker

I see Guilford .. Two types of Morrow mountain.. Halifax...lecroy... The material you're talking about looks like rayholite with alot of patina.
Inside it's probably green or black.

Those are some nice finds! Looks like a good area with the variety you found.
