Detector(s) used
Minelab Explorer XS Minelab E-trac
I Havent been out in awhile but today my sister came over with the kids. My neice is so enthused with my finds and meatal detector I let her swing it in the back yard, the minelab is a bit heavy for her but I couldnt get her away from it. She found clad and was so exited. After they left I got the erge to go out for a few hours to a wooded park that still has some good finds waiting and found this change purse, empty. darn. I have never found one and am very happy, I think it is silver or silver plated. I will try to clean it and see. I think its just dandy. Any ideas as to the time period? IMG_0231 (Medium).webp

That is a really nice find, icing on the cake would have been to have that one filled with 1800 coins! Good work!

Sweet sweet find NJ Marty, me thinks some cute neice of yours needs a ace 250, seems like you have created a new hunter and I betcha she'd love it.. great photos too.. and I love your find..any markings on it by the way?

I will buy her a machine probably a garret or a whites, something light so she can swing it with one arm.The purse is to crusty now to see any markings I will clean it and hopefully find some.

An EXQUISITE old find! Looks to pre-date the deco period, so I am going to go with a circa 1900 period. Could be anywhere from 1880 to 1915. Get back to the area and keep detecting!!!!

Doesn't get much lighter when it comes to an ace 250

Marty,
I love finding relics that "may" hold something inside. Very exciting indeed. That is really a cool find, coins or not. Great design.
Keep at that site.
Your niece looks like she's having a lot of fun. :icon_queen:
Congrats ,
