Also pictures don't do it justice, I had a hard time getting my phone camera to show pictures showing all the detail.

It is a cameo, not sure if it was a ring but a very cool find. It could have been a cameo brooch pin. pretty awesome find that would be a favorite find for me also.

Never thought I'd get a cameo anything. I see them posted sometimes but California it's harder to find cool stuff like this. I got super excited when I saw the face on it was expecting balled up foil as there is a lot of tiny bits of aluminum and foil that trick my metal detector on this permission

That’s a nice cameo. From the look of the back I think it might be an older style clip on earring. I can’t be sure, but that’s what it looks like to me. Good job. Stay safe and keep swingin.

I plan to take it to my local jeweler and see what he thinks and regardless of what it is see if he can bend the back at least close to it's original shape. These days I know not to attempt it myself I'll make it worse lol.

The stone might be alabaster. Google up alabaster stone and see what you think.

I'll give that a check. I cleaned it with my ultrasonic cleaner. I'm glad it didn't break it was a bit worried. I just like how the ultrasonic cleaner just quickly takes the dirt off rings. Though perhaps wasn't the smartest choice not knowing if the stone would react to it but worked out

A jeweler probably won't try and bend it back because it would take heat to do it and that would probably destroy the stone shattering it or cracking it. It is cool as it is.

Also looks almost similar, pictures don't show it but it also has a bit of a pink tone to it

I'll still take it in I always show my jeweler my finds. I've made friends like that with him and helps me get good deals on things that can be fixed lol

Pretty cool !

Really cool find!! Congrats!!

construction of it makes me lean towards it being a scarf slide. It's very cool. My Grandmother wore a cameo ring, which I passed on to my daughter

I think this is a ring. Wasn't expecting it in a permission I've gone over countless times. Not precious metal but my favorite ring I've ever found now. Such neat detail and looks to be something that would of been personal to someone. Just a neat piece to me.
Nice!!!! Congrats!!!!!

In central California. Farmlands sandy area. You'd never know there was houses there it's just a 40 acre almond orchard now no buildings around. But as far as I know used to once be a couple homes on that property

We try to find the old places where homes USED to be

I use a website that has old maps and photos of areas from different years. Helps me find old places I can walk to out here
