Need a little help with this please.

Found this on my friends property. We have no idea what it is or belonged to. We did some research on the land and the last building was torn down/removed in 1913. Only trees and woods on this site now. This was the first item dug. It was packed with dirt and was stacked inside each other.
I figured this would be the place to get some info - thanks in advance.

At first glance I thought it was remains of an old time "cricket can"...
They came in a zillion styles and shapes etc...
But not so sure...

The thing on the right in the middle pic resembles the cap on an old broom handle.Once would have had a metal loop for hanging.Just a thought.
