The frames of points look pretty safe, much of the hard stone probably too, but I would sure like to see better, if not individual pics on many of those pieces in the other frame before I would want to say much more. They could all be good, but then again

This is only my opinion and meant with all due respect.
I would say if you don't trust your personal opinion I would never lay down money to purchase items you didn't see come from the ground yourself.
And I would stay away from this entire tray.
And the two hard stone pieces in the top left corner of the first image

Valid points. I would say once every 3 months or so I run into these types of displays at auction. I live in a heavily populated Native American part of the state so these types of collections are common. There are also a lot of nice silver and turquoise pieces that I will probably buy. Thanks for your help!

If I was you and I wanted some of this collection I would try to get the two trays of Field Grade pieces and let everyone else fight over the questionable pieces in the first two trays and the last pic. I wouldn't bid on anything in those trays.

It's a buyer beware market, like reaper said the field grade looks good, but there are items in the other photos that jumps out at me saying danger danger danger. If you have enough money to where it want hurt the seed jar and the bowl look ok but that is by a photo. Happy Bidding

Another thing to consider is that the pottery and effigy looks South American. I may be wrong. But that means that this guy collected outside of his area and bought things. May have been a personal collection but not personally found. He might have found the field grade stuff and bought the rest. I think the members are giving you good advice. Nice looking collection it is a shame that the history is lost.
