I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard jjvb2003! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

My 12 year old son and I found this in a local river and we would like some help identifying it.
We found it magnet fishing on an old railroad bridge that has been converted to a bike path.
In our town we have extensive logging history. To me it appears to be hand forged.

Thanks!

Welcome to TNet. Perhaps a hanger for a curtain

Since it was found under a bridge that was converted to a bike path, I would say it is the bracket that hold the brake pads on a bicycle.

Just a guess of course. :dontknow:
