I found some quartz with gold in it. I did an acid test and lo and behold my gold is still there and I'm pretty stoked about it but would just like some 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th opinions on whether or not I'm hallucinating. I have a few to say the least.

Welcome to the net. That looks to be gold. Nice bright yellow and you say acid didn't eat it or tarnish it.

Good Luck!

Thank you for the warm welcome! It's kind of a big shocker! I've been studying geology, gold prospecting and diamond prospecting and I stumbled upon this stuff completely by accident. Yes, the pictures that you see are wet with acid. Any other helpful advice? I'm a newbie relatively. What is an easy way to get my goods out? BTW I'll post more pics of different rocks with gold. Some are really bizarre. I hit em' all with acid and i have a microscope so I can take pictures and video I did both because I'm obsessive.

These quartz rocks average the size of a fist to a wee bit bigger.

first pic looks good, what kind of acid? what state?

If the gold is significant and large amounts on the rocks and very visible with the eye do not crush. It is more valuable as a specimen. If it is just several small specks crush and pan. Looks good.

The acid was muratic and I live in the great state of Michigan. I have stumbled upon a nice honey hole of nice size quartz. Its going to be a blast to crush it and pan it and see what shows up. Glacial is where its at.:D

I'd crush some and pan it.

I've seen rocks just like that and what looked like gold turned out to be some sort of sulphide.

I'll crush it pan it and see what turns up. I'll keep pics posted of progress. Fingers crossed!! http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Gold-Quartz-273364.jpg[/url]
