Need Help Identifying Coin

Does anybody have any clues as to the origin of this coin? Do you even think it's a valid coin? I purchased it at a curio shop in Seattle.

With the exception of metal content, it looks Persian (aka Iranian). Although there are some minor differences, without further research, let's say Middle East for now.

That’s a half rupee from Bhutan (a tiny Kingdom in the Eastern Himalayas, sandwiched between India and China), produced between 1790-1820.
