✅ SOLVED Need help identifying embossed plate found near railroad tear down area

Anyone have a clue what the round object is with a star embossed on it? I have placed it next to a piece of a lantern/reflector thingy found nearby. Both objects were found in an old rail car tear down area that dates to the civil war. The circular round object is made of what appears to be two pieces of aluminum sheet pressed together. It's pretty heavy - wonder if it came off a rail car or lantern? Perhaps a military vehicle?



Any help is appreciated.
