The style reminds me of what I've seen referred to as "Chinese" style locks. The "Asterisk" reminds me of what I see on stuff coming out of India.

That's all I can say.......I know, not much. Maybe RedCoat will chime in soon!

Do you have the key??
Most Chinese locks the key enters from the end of the lock and push the lock pin in the center out the other end.
I agree it has a Hindu/Arab look...
