The stone is wet in the photo by the way.

I think it's quartz but which kind? It has yellow, white and pinkish hues... Thanks in advance .

Do you know what kind of quartz ? Is it citrine or just yellow quartz ? In any case your reply is appreciated :icon_thumleft:

...as is amethyst... but yours is just a common broken quartz cobble, not to be confused with a quartz crystal. In your stone's case the color is not unusual nor valuable. Iron impurities are the usual suspect for the yellowish color.

So, let me get this straight...if it's a cobble it's garbage and if it's a Cristal quartz it's a "real" quartz...hmm, can someone please explain to us newbies :icon_scratch:
It has the same composition but it's not the same thing. To me every stone is beautiful and certainly has other values than monetary.
P.S. thanks for your replies.

Great answers from the members above to your questions, I might also suggest that you also post your question here... Rocks/Gems

Здраво Rebelle, yes most of us would agree with you and all stones polish up very nicely too. the difference between your cobble and a crystal is structure and form not substance. Quartz crystals are not particularly valuable either.

Zdravo Uncle Mac!
I finally think I got it . It's a yellow aventurine which is still a quartz but it helps to know what is the name of it and it would be obvious if I have put a picture of it when it was dry because it was too wet when I took the photo and if I have only put photo of it dry you could clearly see the glitter or metallic shine that makes it aventurine . It would make a great lamp or something. And thank you for your patience and time. Regards from Serbia.
