My uncle worked in an apartment building in NYC in the 1980's and kept interesting items that were thrown away. This is obviously some sort of wooden flask. It looks like someone at some time put a coat of shellac/varnish on it to prevent rot/rusting. The faint flower motif appears on all sides. I don't see any other markings. I've done a Google lens search and have come up with varying answers: Revolutionary War canteen, vintage Appalachian whisky flask, Greek wine flask. Any thoughts? Value?
Thanks!
