Need a little help with this decorative goose. It stands waist high and has removable legs. Carved from one solid piece of wood. A friend of mine acquired it from a woman that collected antiques from all around the world. We believe it may be Asian or foregin for that matter. Please any help would be appreciated.

Likely. Possibly Hamsa (a goose or swan), vehicle of Brahma and important in the Hindu religion.

Seriously? Thats like looking seeing a certian kind of old car and asking what it is only to get the reply "It's made in USA" I'm looking to find out who made it. What it was made for? Maybe the paint scheme means something? When it was made? Those things.

Wow! Didnt now there were so many comedians on tnet! The country of origin is a starting but i was looking for maybe a time period or spiritual meaning. I looked alot online but keep coming up empty handed. There are no markings on it anywhere. We also believed it was Asian or far East. It is pretty big the pics dont clearly show its size. Jeep thanks for nothing somehow you comments was undoubtedly funnier/sillier in your head than when posted. I will admit when somethings funny but this was a swing and a miss! Bigcypress thanks again for your research.

Is that one eye in the center or 2 eyes? Maybe a clue.

There is no need to send anybody a check. The good people here on the "What Is It" forum work for free. Sometimes you just have to put up with some ribbing and wait for the right person to reply.

Well as LUCK would have it I ran across the link you posted a few days back and couldnt find a anything close enough to conclude my amature research. I believe we may have a slight misunderstanding as to where the attitude came from. I simply asked for some information on a antique. The attitude was directed at me first. I simply wanted to narrow my search and see if I could get some concrete proof as to what the goose is. If you need to somehow boost your ego by chiming in and trying to belittle me and my search dont do me any favors. Now if you have any information pertaining to the goose I will thank you in advance otherwise let my post sit idle. Im confident any otber replys will be informative in nature instead of comical.
