Need help with dimes, nickels, quarters

Is it 1964 and older that Dimes and Quarters were 40% silver? or what date is it?

Also which date starts for Nickels to become of value?

40% silver are half dollars 1965 to when they stopped. There are also some silver Ikes. dimes, quarters and halfs are 90% from 1964 back. The nickels began being pumped and dumped in about 1964 to replace all the silver that disappeared from circulation. Most folks keep nice nickels from most dates and all nickels before 1960. silver war nickels will have a large letter over the dome and be dated 1942-1943-1944 or 1945. siegfried schlagrule
