🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Need Help with ID

My ten year old granddaughter is hooked on metal detecting! We found this in the yard of her home, which was built in 1790. My best guess is that it is some kind of furniture decoration. About 3” long, 2.5” wide. Thank you.

I‘m guessing a little locket. You can see where a chain might have gone through at some time. Nice find.
