Found this in the oldest park in town, would like to know it's age and any other history if possible. Haven't found any like this with the extra feathers on the back of the head. Any help is greatly appreciate. Thank you in advance

P.S. back is shot and missing but it looks thicker than most other 2 piece buttons I found

Sorry to have to tell you, it is not an actual US Military button... it is a cheap imitation made for use on "Nautical -themed" civilian coats and jackets. Button collectors call those civilian buttons a "Fashion" button. The key ID clue for distinguishing your button from an actual US Navy button is that the rope around its emblem does not pass through the loop on the anchor's top. Also, actual US military buttons have very sharp, deeply-stamped detail, whereas your button's emblem shows weak, very cheap die-stamping work. For comparison, here's a photo of an actual US Navy button. Note the very sharp detail, and the rope going through the anchor's loop.

Also the missing back implies possible iron back Construction typical of Blazer buttons that are civilian. And never found on actual Navy buttons as far as I know

Either way though it is a very handsome looking button and will display nicely
