Awesome find! I'm not really sure what you should do. It's probably best to not mess around with it though.
 

The green is verdigris and is attacking the copper like a cancer. Peroxide will not help stop the chemical process. It needs a soak in a product called Verti-gone. Just Google it and get ya some. Nice coin!
 

Considering the rarity of a coin, you might look into a professional coin cleaning service. I don't know how expensive it is though...
 

well I did the peroxide bath for 3 minutes....all the green came off no problem, coin is way nicer now. Listed in on eBay and it ends tomorrow. Currently it is up to $105.06

not bad considering I paid $20 bucks for it!

well the 1914D sold today on ebay for $119.50 and it has already been paid !!!!! WooHOOOOO, NICE profit!
