Need help with this nickel

I found this nickel in a roll and I’m not sure what to make of it. Pmd, grease, cud, lamination error? Thoughts please.

Looks like a very collectable mint error to me. Don't know what caused it but really cool. Just my unofficial 2 cents worth.

median split die --- highly collectible & valuable..... north of $25. die was pushed way beyond it's usable life so details are weak. sold a '74P Jeff & '94-P Zinkie for $25 plus each with median splits

Nice error coin and not an easy one to find. I only have one like that after 13 years of searching.

I checked my collection and i have the exact same one. This is what I was told. It was struck through late stage die cap affixed to a split die. Here's a pic of mine found many years ago for comparison.

I was thinking "cracked die" but the ID above seems to explain it best.

The split goes right thru the center of the date. It could be 1998 but not sure. Philadelphia mint
