I bought this about two years ago at a flea market with about fifty other coins. It appears to be a old hammered coin it is allmost paper thin and i think it is copper or brass. It about the size of a nickel. I will post the other coins latter. Thanks for your help! :icon_thumright:

Mathaus Lauffer ('Mathevs Lavfer in Nvrnberg') was a 'counter' manufacturer and bellfounder in Nuremburg, Germany during the years 1618-1625. He was also the mintmaster there in 1622. This appears be one of the eleven varieties of counters he produced. Looking further, possibly this one was produced in 1625 and was entitled 'the fall of the cross'.

Jettons/Jetons (Rechen Pfennig) are very common they shipped them in the boat loads & Germany flooded the markets & put most other jetton makers out of business. Some types are collectable but you have the most common design.
