Need help with this whazzit

I did not dig this but am curious. It's about the size of a very large door knob,is deeper inside than it looks in the picture and has the American flag on it. Any guesses my fellow treasure hunters?
P.S. has Treasurenet had a swig of vitavitavegamim since I was last here,posting pictures was fast!
