Need help with this whazzit

I did not dig this but am curious. It's about the size of a very large door knob,is deeper inside than it looks in the picture and has the American flag on it. Any guesses my fellow treasure hunters?
P.S. has Treasurenet had a swig of vitavitavegamim since I was last here,posting pictures was fast!

No, a guy we know in Massachuchets sends my husband boxes of dug items for him to put in Riker cases to sell and you never know what the heck you're gonna get!
