Can you add a little info about where you found, not specifics but generalities like in a field, around an old house,Old battlefield or in a park Modern or older. That can sometimes help with I.D.Thanks.

Looks like ww2 us navy symbol on it what is that first letter before the A

It was found by a friend. They found civil war buttons in the area. I think it says D & M on the front.
