I haven't been able to find a match on the net. I think it had something to do with the Wings of Mercy flights during/post WWII but.....?? It doesn't have anything on the back that could have been used for a pin clip which in it's self is weird. I can't figure out how it was attached to anything. It appears to be made of brass or bronze. Measures 2-1/4" long by 5/8" tall and <3/16" at the thickest. It appears to have been cast and not pressed. This one is bugging me.

“Wings of Mercy" still exists and is the name used by several non-profit volunteer organizations which provide free medical air transportation for those in need across the US Midwest. I don’t know exactly which of those organisations your badge is from and, although it looks to be vintage, not all such badges are necessarily wartime items.

Not a match for your badge, but here’s an example in the Smithsonian (note that it has a pin clasp soldered on the back):

gary s fl, that is one OUTSTANDING find! Despite some wear I think I see where one end of a pin mounted on the reverse side on the wing- just above the tail. Compare to the one on eBay...

Thanks invent4hir. Though the wings are not an exact match, it's definitely close enough. Great job!
