lift your detector of the ground when ever you get a beep keep life ting until it quiets
if it's a foot or so of the ground there's some then large
not a coin size object
you mite want to pass that one up
or dig it up an scan under it

+1 with liftloop also keep in mind that the coin indicator is just for the type of metal or rather the conductivity of the target it does not nessessarly mean it what is displayed 10c 25c $1 etc for instance ur detector could read 5c or pt and it could be a gold ring

Sounds like the detector is working to me. The top two post is very good advice. My first detector was a Bounty Hunter and it did the job, but I dug a lot of trash. Even with practice, you are going to have cans and pulltabs as not many detectors are going to do much better. In a trashy area another few tricks I try, is to lower the power all the way to nothing, and use a small search coil. You may also have the notch and auto notch buttons which will help with your hunt and target ID. All else fails, read the manual.

I appreciate all the good advice. I will try the suggestions recommended.
