I found this the other day in my grandparents backyard. The house has been our family for generations and I'm not sure what I have here. There is some writing along the top near the tip, but I can't make it out at all.

Any help would be more than helpful... Thank's in advance

Its a tire valve stem cap which has a (Schrader) stem core remover on the end.

well it looks very much a CO2 gas cartridge used in a BB or pellet gun. Not sure but looks quite similar.

Kinda along the same lines I was thinking. Any chance this has anything to do at all with a Model "T" Ford?

I probably should've also mentioned that on the bottom it is hollow and has no threading inside. Not sure if this will help with I.D.

Nhbenz hit it. Schrader valve tool for pneumatic tires. And yes, the Model T used Schrader valved Goodyear tires.

Thank you for all the responses. The year on the tip of this thing (1915) sorta seals the deal for it being from a Model T Ford. After looking around on the internet, I've come to the conclusion that this is a valve stem cover from a Model T.

Anyone else got any input here?

I have a Model T valve stem cap and that is not one. Like they already mentioned it is a valve stem remover. It could be a cap with a valve stem remover on top but I think it is just an old tool. Also like mentioned the valve is called a Schrader valve, and it is still used on today’s wheels. I'm a mechanic and have a few of them, different styles, just do a google image search and you'll see.
