Need ID on A Button CW?

Found this button at a town site "circa" 1830 - 1870s. Hope some one can give info on it. Had a hard time getting good photo of it. It is domed front and is marked Horstmann bros & co Phila. on the back. Thanks TL

Is it 15mm or 23mm in size?

Thanks again mech tech. My button is from 1859-1863. I printed off the listing of the button back marks and dates you gave for future use. The ghost town where i found this at was known for having parades on vets day for civil war vets in 1870s.
