maybe the hole is so deep that the water has not reached the top of the hole. Did u try dye testing. get some dye and look for the nearest stream or river and see if u can see dye.
It could be that the hole is too deep for the water to have reached the top.
No, we hadnt thought of using dye to see if it runs into the river, thats another good idea.

Post a free ad somewhere like craigslist, the library, the internet. Tell them your looking for a treasure hunter or cache hunter. Then tell them your story and be willing to share any finds.

Quit telling about the general location and curiosities of your assumed treasure. Now that is some good advice you can bank on.
