My guess would be a mining token of some sort. Pretty neat token whatever it is from. Do you know what county or town in WV it is from and if there are any mines in that area?

Thats OK, it fits in with some coin weight designs.

We need a weight to pin down a period, but it represents 18 Shillings.


Can the poster weigh it please?

Yeah, its a close match, I said circa 1770s as the book range ends in 1804 for this type, so I choose the middle ground.

Just to clear this up, the Geo III Coin Weight is not a coin but a weight for checking the proper weight of coins. Its a check by merchants for fakes.
