Was out yesterday enjoying a little digging in the nice weather and came upon what I think may be my first musketball find. Need a bit of help figuring it out though. It was around 6-8 inches down, has a brown tint to it but you can see some grey showing through in spots. It’s heavy it weighed 24.6 g. One side seems to have a bit of a flatter surface, but you can’t see that in the photo. For reference it is sittting next to a dime.

Thanks for the advice in advance! Always good stuff here. 7A8DAFC8-6D55-424C-93AE-67A7D76292EE.webp1B4EE95F-083F-4067-803B-3784B6DA5CE4.webpC3DA29AA-6A56-438F-A977-F119DF9B56E5.webp

Looks like canister grape shot.

Looks to be too big for a musketball, but too small for cannon grapeshot.
Depending on where in the world you're located, it might be canister shot. :icon_scratch:

did you check it with a magnet to see if it is iron? grape shot or canister shot would likely be iron.
musket ball would likely be made of lead.

littleneckhalfshell I did run a magnet over it and it doesn’t stick. Pretty sure it’s lead now. Thanks
