Found this button at a park yesterday...it was an eyeball find after a good rain..the park has been there since around 1917 or so...the front has what appears to be some tulips on it that are opposed to each other...the small surrounding holes on the front are the shape of the tulip "heads"...the back has no markings....any idea as to age and what this was? Just a plain clothes button, or something else?
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look...

Nice find - I'd guess it's a womans dress button circa mid 1800's but I'd ask PBK - he's the button expet ;D

Well, Calling PBK...any info?? What do you think??

Other than it being a nice floral civilian button, you should suspect that the park is older than 1917. Maybe something else was there before, since that button is at least 50 years older. Are you sure there is no back mark?
Dave.

No back mark... and it looks like a self-shank... I think 1900 - 1950 is correct.

I agree with Jim.
