Need Some help with a possible 40% error..

Hey guys.. My finds have been really bad lately, but I did find some keepers in a 4 box run today.. One of them was this 1969 40% that I am hoping someone could help me with.. It initially looked like the 6 was hit with a ball peen hammer or something, but once I saw a mark on the back side of the coin, I wanted to check on here to see if this is some sort of error that I am not familiar with. I figured it's not, but just wanted to make sure it isn't before I toss it into the pile.. Any help or info you can give would be appreciated. Thanks and happy hunting..

Hey AdDicted! I honestly don't know, but, Merry Christmas! Oh, and nice score on the Christmas Eve Silver! My boxes and bag didn't get to the bank on time today so no hunt for me till Thursday, aside the 1 one of repacked garbage yesterday, the other box had 1 90 and 4 40's, so I'm happy. HH, Maverick.

Hey Mav.. Thanks I really appreciate it.. The finds have sure been dismal here lately and I am also getting low on funds, so i am probably going to have to cut a box out of the bank roll next week.. Hopefully I get some keepers in my 4 boxes on friday..

Good luck! I am soooo close on my goal for 40's this year, I just need a good box or 2 to get there, I am falling pretty short on my 90's but still have hope! I'll post my end of the year finds and goals probably this weekend, hope I make it! HH, Maverick.

Looks like it was hit by something after it left the mint but any Silver is still a good score. The "flattening" on the reverse is because it was on a hard surface when it was hit.

It looks like Post-mint damage (PMD); however, I am not an error expert. It looks like it was hit with a hammer.
