Found in dry wash in north scottsdale. It was almost completely buried when I found it. It is a big sphere shaped and weighs in at 9 1/2 pounds. Yea it's heavy real heavy. It looks like some type of turquoise but it looks like there are either gold or copper veins running throught it. All info is greatly appreciated.

haha it's all the same rock just diffrent pics. But yea it is very strange and seems so heavy for its size it's odd

Have you tried to scrape some of the veins to see if they flake off at all? Or done a streak test? Those are about the easiest non destructive test you can do on it to get an idea as to what might be in it. From what I can see it kind of looks like the copper ore we have around here. Last resort would be to pop it open with a hammer.

dependent upon which wash it was found in...does it connect to 7 springs area north of cave creek?

no hammers...please...I have a rock saw...

would you please get the rock wet and repost a photograph? show that vein if you would.

no it's actually off of happy valley road and Alma's school. I'll do that and post picks when I get home.

I have tried but to scrap it but it just leaves a scrap indent no flakes

It's not turquoise and I don't see any signs of copper minerals being present.

Looks like what they call Leverite. ;)
