Made by Remington in the 1930's. The heel served as a bottle opener. I doubt it's worth much in its present condition.

Funny, I just sold one in my display case in the antique mall. nr. mint $28.00

near mint 😳
You got yourself a Zinclon of a opener/knife sir.
That dream of the white sands beach house slips past you once again.

Will admit it's a pretty cool recovery though.

Many public spots are getting that way.
15yrs ago in Bradenton Fl.
Cop ran me out of a park, told me to go to a certain area to detect.
I was detecting there one day, and another cop told me to go back to the park.
I explained that I was told.

He took out a card, signed the back, and said hand this to the other cop.
I felt like a pawn in a precinct piss up.
I like the private permissions period.

Me and my detecting partner went hunting around the Courthouse in Charlotte NC one time (sunday or holiday I don't know which) and a police officer came by and talked to us, but he said that if there was no specific law against it then nobody could tell you that you can't do it... So we kept walking around like idiots and found pretty much nothing..
I did get a Mercury dime but that was all... no wheats or anything else I can remember... SO.... the moral of the story is...
If its open to hunting... its probably empty :crybaby2: 🤣 🤣

Drove by a site today.
Never got a yes from the horse hay field owner. Under the hay sits one of the oldest fair grounds.
What do I see, 3- 15ft high dirt piles and an excavator digging a basement for a new home.
Made me kind of sick to see history being buried.

Most any in near mint-mint condition are repros, they made thousands of them. If it were original it was really cheap.
