near mint 😳Funny, I just sold one in my display case in the antique mall. nr. mint $28.00
Made by Remington in the 1930's. The heel served as a bottle opener. I doubt it's worth much in its present condition.

I believe that I dug this in White Points Garden in Charleston SC .... Or more commonly known as Battery Park...You got yourself a Zinclon of a opener/knife sir.
That dream of the white sands beach house slips past you once again.
Will admit it's a pretty cool recovery though.
Many public spots are getting that way.I believe that I dug this in White Points Garden in Charleston SC .... Or more commonly known as Battery Park...
That was more than 20 years ago...![]()
Its now posted as NO METAL DETECTING
Me and my detecting partner went hunting around the Courthouse in Charlotte NC one time (sunday or holiday I don't know which) and a police officer came by and talked to us, but he said that if there was no specific law against it then nobody could tell you that you can't do it... So we kept walking around like idiots and found pretty much nothing..Many public spots are getting that way.
15yrs ago in Bradenton Fl.
Cop ran me out of a park, told me to go to a certain area to detect.
I was detecting there one day, and another cop told me to go back to the park.
I explained that I was told.
He took out a card, signed the back, and said hand this to the other cop.
I felt like a pawn in a precinct piss up.
I like the private permissions period.
Most any in near mint-mint condition are repros, they made thousands of them. If it were original it was really cheap.Funny, I just sold one in my display case in the antique mall. nr. mint $28.00
