Also found these two quartz? pieces at the Osage trade site. I don’t know if they predate the historical trade items that I posted below or they are contemporary. Certainly not a native stone to southeast Kansas that I know of. The small stone has obviously been used as a percussion tool. Anybody have an idea of the origin of this stone??
Yes! I studied up on these two rocks that I found yesterday on the river bluff in Kansas. They are indeed white quartz as you stated. Source appears to be central Arkansas in the Ouachita Mounains. Thats about a six hour drive from here! Nice.
