Hi All
I haven't been huntin much and after checking the forum I thought "what the heck"
I live on family Gold Rush property and hunt it when ever I move something or clear some brush.
So to day I thought I would clear a little and hunt a spot.
Now this dirt is more nails and tin than dirt, so hunting is VERY challenging.
I thought I would give Calabash Diggers program in full tones a try.
I was hunting about 40 square feet of nails..
I mean ground and trying to hear the "good" targets in that mess was crazy.
This ground would make his sound clean!!
There were no clear tones that said dig, just iffy kind of tones.
so I started to pop the iffy ones and see if I could start to make out what was there.
I found that the rise in tone above iron was what to look for.
It was never clear, but I did dig a few non iron targets.
Anyway I got a signal that was above iron and had a "good" sound in it, and I do mean in it.
The VDI which I hardly ever look at any more was in the 06 to 66 range and every where else.
But enough of the good to say dig.
I flip the DRY soil over and find a big washer and think ok that's it.
Than I rescan and get a high 70's + tone.
Scratch the soil around a bit and see the octagon and say to myself TOKEN!
Here's a few shot of the recover and clean-up.
Don't know why it won't let me upload the in ground pic but ya get the idea.
Thank for going along with me on this re-live of the hunt..
