Strange looking

What would you guess this mahogany obsidian is? Puzzling in that it also dead ends.

After seeing it, dont care if i never hear of it again - just my preference.

eBay is the only place I've ever seen artifacts made of "NC flint". Glad to know here in the land of rhyolite and quartz a fine grade flint was assigned to us. Although, I'm pretty sure all this guys stuff was really rhyolite and quartzite. This vendor was a true marketing genius...... I mean idiot. Lol!! NC flint..... Geez, I've seen it all

i would not say it was real or fake.
till i tryed makeing a bead with it.
but that just me. i like to prove if it works or not before i decided if its fake.

I don't know about rolling a stone on there to make a bead, but rubbing one into that groove might do it. Looks like a very easy way to grind down a pebble to me and entirely possible.

I can tell you , there is no way to have control over how much grinding would be done, unless you already started with a perfect tube shape, and if you did that why use something like that. Stone beads were made by hand and the constant grinding and movement of the piece is how they got round JMO.
