Well,

I had a busy schedule today, but I had about 15 minutes to kill. I decided to try a few different settings on my DFX. I chose a 10'x10' berm on the side of my mid 1960's built house that has produced some silver before. I must first say that I have been over this entire specific area thoroughly with three other detectors, and they did not reach deep enough to get these coins.

Well needless to say within a few minutes I got a broken signal in one direction only reading 80 and jumping to 83 at 7 inches. I dig through some roots and came up with the '63 Rosie. I swept the coil over the hole and got a very broken 83 reading at 8.5 inches. I stuck my probe into the bottom of the hole and came out with the '64 quarter.

This Confirms 3 things that I already knew:

1) The DFX Rocks!!!!
2) No site is ever completely hunted out.
3) Never overlook your own yard!

Nothing great, but any day with silver is a great day!

Thanks for looking!
Neil

Nice moves! Some of my best finds have been in my back yard along with my parents.

You dug up your parents in the backyard? :D

You know my home was built in 1963 and my son found silver in the yard! All it takes is one year. ;D

Just a thought....... My home was built in the early 1980s, BUT the land has been there forever and people have been losing things since pockets were invented. I bee thunkin that there is potential anywhere you swing the coil.

Well my house was built in 1963 or 1964. The land was a farm at for at least 150 years. here are a few things dating back at least 100 years that I dug up on my lawn:
