Trying to find out what this. Some say cannon ball some say slave ball. It is made of lead. Sorry i forgot to post pic will do better next time.

Not a projectile.

What size and are there any features that would indicate something was or could be attached to it?

I would say neither .. Maybe a gate weight. Can you post a pic of the top of it?

creskol i think you my be right i did some research on gate and it my be one. I was trying to find out for a guy on facebook.

I'm not sure if this guy actually embossed these musketballs or not or if some soldier carved them.His website is somewhat wacky, so it's hard to tell.

Looks like he ruined some perfectly good lead balls with modern day die stamps.

I thought the lettering looked modern, and I agree with you, he ruined some perfectly good musket balls. Breezie
