Hey all the wife and I got out for a nice 3 hour dig today since we can still get in the ground here in Michigan and boy am I glad I went out. Last week I went to a new park to check out and I pulled a .925 ring out of it so im thinking there has to be more there and boy was I right. my 2nd or 3rd target was that Good Luck token and I was like its gonna be a good day. So I kept pluggin along and BAM we've got us a high 80's signal. Thinking why bother its like 10 feet from a tot lot its gonna be just another quarter because it was only about an inch and a half down I rolled the plug out to see something a bit "Larger" than a quarter. I begin rubbing the mud off it and im seeing "One Cent" im like no fricken way possible. The more I cleaned the better it got what I ended up with is a 1847 Braided Hair yes its a really cool find but what makes it even better is its a first and my oldest coin or relic to date. Thanks for looking.

Congratualtions on the nice hunt and old copper recovery! :occasion14:

Nice large cent. That hole adds character. Congrats

Congratulations on the bucket lister. Very good find in our state.

Fantastic find! I never get tired of being surprised at what comes out of the ground. That's a heck of an oldest coin. Well done!

What's that the looking thing with the lines on it?

Very nice finds Good job

The large cent looks like one of those that Anne Oakley shot out of someone's hand. She's buried not far from Minster, Oh. Cool site, if you can find it.

I'm wondering if that 'screw looking' thing is an old Pipe Tamper?

Never found a large, great job.

Thanks everyone for your comments. The wife and I are thinking that's the hole was made with a square nail.
