1715 homestead yields period relics! Late 1600's spoon!

**UPDATE - I finally got off my backside and started editing and putting together the video I took of my 2015 hunts. If you want to see some of the below items recovered or insitu here is the link:

https://youtu.be/C7Q9q1EreNI

These pictures represent 8.5 hours of detecting bliss on a new site. The property originally had a small cape built in 1715, and then a huge Colonial was attached to it by 1792. A great day out and some fantastic finds! ·

I found the cut half penny first, it was a faint signal and I ended up recovering it close to 12 inches!! I was stoked when later in the day I found a complete KGII with a readable date 1734!!! The picture doesn't show it as well as in person.

Another thrill was the 3 IH coin spill. Recover, scan and repeat, I was so excited!

I found the two lead figures within 3 feet of each other. Does anyone have an idea on the date they may have been made? I am thinking the soldier may actually be an English Sailor?

I always love finding cuff links, I forgot to take some pics of the back to help identify when they were made. They have a shank built into each one with an "S" clasp connecting them.

Does anyone have an idea on the large pewter spoon with the circular stamp in the bowl? Age??

****UPDATE VERY COOL**** I did some searching around TNET and found some ID's that I think match up. The "touch mark" is referenced in the two links below, so I'm pretty sure this spoon may date to the late 1600's!!!!

http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/w...e-thing-solved-trifid-spoon-1680-1700ish.html <--there's a pic in this thread that looks almost like mine

I also was pumped to find the shield horse harness accoutrement. I see them posted here and wanted to find one for myself. Are they always military in nature or could this have been civilian? Date range on it? What about the large one? What was it's purpose?

****UPDATE ID on shield****

got a proper ID on the shield decoration. It's called a "harness boss" and was affixed to the end of leather straps on horse harnesses. Was used from the late 1790's through to the civil war.

Great assortment of coins and relics spanning many years, but I'm partial to the colonial stuff. You are enjoying finds from several eras there and it looks like some fun digging!

OMG! That's quite a lot of relics, and you have more area to search! Congrats on all your finds!
I like the thimble.

Very nice hunt! I like the (buckle/suspender clip thingy) hah. Those Indians sure do have a lot of detail also. Take ur time cleaning them and they should look amazing. Well they look amazing already. Congrats and get back there. I'm sure there's much more.

Yeap, I've had a few of that spoon mark. Must be a UK made one.

WOW!! What a site-I bet you'll be back there as soon as you can-I know I would. Congratulations on a whole bunch of great finds.

Whoa!! I found something very similar to your "toy" once and didn't know what it was. This looks very close to yours but obviously is missing that center rod. Now that I see yours, do you think it is a gyroscope?

The Harmonica reed is a pump organ reed. That picture frame is remarkable, congrats on some awesome finds.

Wow, that's an honest to God treasure trove that area! :treasurechest::thumbsup:

If anyone is interested, I just posted a video I made of this hunt. Enjoy!
