I'm going to venture into a new area tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will only slow me down, not completely stop me. So far I'm 2 for 2 in locating sites to hunt. I'll update everyone tomorrow.

Good luck & happy hunting,

Good luck...with all the rain in this area you should have some exposed materials for sure, assuming they aren't under water!!!

Good luck. Trying a new spot myself. Hope you do well.

Thanks for the encouragement but I completely whiffed today. I woke checked the weather and water levels and determined that it wasn't perfect but it was good enough. I went outside and realized it was still blowing 25 mph and decided to bag the rivers as I've only had my boat out once and don't fully trust it yet. With the rain the fields were still to wet. Really the roads were too wet because I didn't want to rut up the farmers roads, a wet field doesn't bother me too much. So in the end I drove around a bit, did some scouting, found some flakes walking a river bank, but basically completely whiffed. I did see one big tom out strutting for some hens but that was it.

Big tom out strutting with hens ya say.....now that's what I'm looking for but I can't seem to get away from work long enough to go chase em!! In fact it's getting so bad I'm going to finish up tonights 12 hour shift at 0400, go home, grab my gear, and head out to see if I can find a dumb one. I only get to stay a few hours because I have to work another 12 hours Monday night. Love overtime...hate missing turkey season.

Sorry for hijacking your thread, better luck with the new fields when the rain finally stops...in July.
