I started with the model that followed that one, I think it was the T-20, and your right it is waterproof, and makes a great boat anchor.

I wish i could have been into this hobby back in the day when guys were using these old machines and raking in the beltplates and other relics from the virgin sites!

I wish i could have been into this hobby back in the day when guys were using these old machines and raking in the beltplates and other relics from the virgin sites!

Relic hunters were using rakes in the woods back then, and had just started using metal detectors around Atlanta in the early 60's. I saw several very nice collections of CW relics including plates from both sides found just by raking through the leaves in the woods.

Fisher M-Scope! Wow. I remember reading about a guy who went to Ecuador looking for Inca gold and he had one of these. At the time it was State of the Art. He ended up getting arrested for Antiquities theft and illegally importing gold into the UK.
